Re: Aiming a StuG III question

I tend to turn the turret a bit in games to point at the target, and it doesn't seem to affect play at all, as the big thing in playing is acquiring a target, so you wont usually be shooting at a different target anytime soon!

Chain of Command, 1940 style

My friends took advantage of my absence to do another Chain of Command game, I have used their pics and text to do a report on it! The write up is on my blog at this link: https://herkybird-richardbradley.blogspot.com/2019/02/out-of-chain-of-command.html https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Iqr0MdRD75s/XGCHlF...

Re: Using Action Cards to balance points?

If you are using the rules' points system, the balance in multi vehicle games is definitely skewed! I did a points system which makes such games more balanced, which you can download from http://herkybird.tynesidewargames.co.uk/misc.html I did a sort of solo system too which you can download freely ...

Re: Pictures from Quar What a Tanker! game

I would say; Yes, you can turn while reversing, and turn a turret. The 'House Rule' is reasonable to me, using a saved 6 to reduce your chance of going first. The 'to hit' and 'to acquire' modifiers are the same, mainly involving obstacles between observer/shooter and target. You just count 'Low Pro...

Re: What a tanker house rules

In the 6 days war, a Sherman M51 turned a corner and came face to face with a Jordanian M48, both sides fired and missed at less than 10 yards, it was the commander's M51 firing from further back which killed the M48, later in the same action, the Israelis rushed amongst the rest of the Jordanian ta...

Re: Combining Activation Dice?

I always rationalise the lack of fire/2-3 shots an activation situation as being maybe a shot being taken without any chance of a hit (EG aiming at a wrong target) - or assuming the last shot kicked up a lot of dust/smoke, making a shot difficult. Also, remember you have rolled other results, so may...

Re: N8 Greyhound

The M8 is very lightly armoured with a 37mm gun I would go with Armour 2, strike 4, fast on roads, 1 dice for movement cross country, no crossing hedges etc. Points wise, the original rules would cost it at 6, in my version it would be 5. http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/...
