Battle of Wyse's Fork
I set up a 40mm ACW battle for 7 students in my Afternoon Academy last week. We play a game every Wednesday afternoon. The students are from 10 to 14 years old. Last week we did a portion of Wyse's Fork, outside Kinston, NC fought on 8 March 1865. The students enjoyed it so much we decided to do mor...

Great Account of Miller's Cornfield at Antietam
https://ironbrigader.com/2012/09/18/rufus-dawes-6th-wisconsin-infantry-describes-fighting-cornfield-antietam/ This makes for a great read. It really reminds me of how PC works as far as regiments moving up, taking losses and possibly failing an ET then having to move back and reform and come up aga...

Gaines Mill Scenario
Here is the OB I used for the initial assault at Gaines' Mill from around 2:30-3:30 PM on 27 June 1862 Note that for ease of first time use of all players I made all regiments regular size so 4/8/12 casualty levels. I couldn't find sources showing anything OTHER than rifled muskets so kept weapons s...

Re: Labels?
H, We generally do: 1. Unit/(Weapon)/Brigade. (We only mark a weapon if its not a rifled musket, so either SB, BL or RP.) 2. Morale. 3. Size. 4. Optional: Casualties. Mini-Boxes across the bottom of the label to mark off casualties. (We only do this for large games, for normal sized games we just u...
