Yes glad to see this here as I had also missed the VERY CLEAR description in the rules. Thanks Dave!

Chain of Command Tarawa at Southern Front 2018

This gorgeous Chain of Command game was put on by Chris Hughes (of Sash & Saber) and Steve Raynor at this weekend's Southern Front run by the Triangle Simulation Society in Raleigh, NC. It feeatured Red Beach 3 and had 2 USMC platoons supported by Amtracs and Shermans along with a Scout-Sniper squad...

Great Account of Miller's Cornfield at Antietam

https://ironbrigader.com/2012/09/18/rufus-dawes-6th-wisconsin-infantry-describes-fighting-cornfield-antietam/ This makes for a great read. It really reminds me of how PC works as far as regiments moving up, taking losses and possibly failing an ET then having to move back and reform and come up aga...

Gaines Mill Scenario

Here is the OB I used for the initial assault at Gaines' Mill from around 2:30-3:30 PM on 27 June 1862 Note that for ease of first time use of all players I made all regiments regular size so 4/8/12 casualty levels. I couldn't find sources showing anything OTHER than rifled muskets so kept weapons s...

Re: Labels?

H, We generally do: 1. Unit/(Weapon)/Brigade. (We only mark a weapon if its not a rifled musket, so either SB, BL or RP.) 2. Morale. 3. Size. 4. Optional: Casualties. Mini-Boxes across the bottom of the label to mark off casualties. (We only do this for large games, for normal sized games we just u...

Nice representation of "freshly minted" abbatis!
Thank you! Yes I'd like to dull them down a little but it's what I had available and went with it. They were freshly cut so I thought they'd not have "browned" much. Next I plan to add the stumpy field out in front of the works.

Pickett's Charge Gaines' Mill Game Southern Front 2018

I ran this 40mm ACW game using Pickett's Charge this past weekend at Southern Front in Raleigh, NC. This is a great regional convention that pulls folks typically from the southeastern US and always has a high quality of game. This scenario featured AP Hill's Light Division with 4 brigades attacking...
