To be honest, I'm not clear on the details, not using mortars often if at all, and I was taking the OP's example. All I'm saying is that the amount of damage to the building is not a function of the number of people in it. But then as the lone survivor of a section takes as much potential damage as ...

Logically the structure is not going to be weaker because there are more men inside. Unless it is a lot more men. :D
Really you should only take the first roll into account for structural integrity. And roll for empty buildings.

Since no other support comes as a whole platoon, with ammunition vehicles yet, I think a single vehicle in support would not be wrong; maybe the others are a few hundred metres away on one flank or another.

Dux B is as much a campaign system as a set of generic rules. I'd say that they would address different situations.
