Re: New Blog - Getting back into Miniatures and the FIW

Now if Rich did a CoC type game for FIW I would be there in a flash I'm not Richard but... Sharpe's Chain: - Roll 5D6 for command (or possibly a die per leader... discuss) - Leaders rated as 2-5 rather than 1-4, with 5 being rare (testing might show this to be OTT) - Leader is activated with a die ...

Re: RussianTank Riders

Don't be too harsh on them. Bear in mind the infantry will be deploying at the back of the table, rather than from a deployment point.

Re: Leaders and Force selection

With support you can buy units, leaders or additional options, but the core forces do include leaders.

Re: Out of my depth

Of course the 17/21st Lancers are a different story. 2 regiments amalgamated. Don't ask for consistency in the British army.

Re: Turn 4-Von Luck Campaign

If he came on with an order of 'level all the builsings' then I have no problem with him doing just that. Though if he changes to shooting at targets of opportunity before he has finished the task, I'd feel he was taking the mick.

Re: Turn 4-Von Luck Campaign

I don't have the rules to hand, but once a building has collapsed, it would be rubble, so still providing cover (consider Cassino as an example of this).

On the other hand, facing a Schlepper and a mortar barrage, you are unlikely to come out of this well in any case.

Re: Op Martlet - Splitting Panzer Grenadier Support

As I understand it, if you have lost a full LMG team, you lose the LMG, so in your example, the platoon would have had just 4 LMGs until a new platoon appears. As for the reinforcement riflemen, if attached to existing teams, you would have to randomly determine whether it was core team members or r...

Re: About Leaders

I run a house rule that leader's status and rank are not necessarily linked. So you might get a Status 1 ensign with a trusty status 3 sergeant, for example. In which case the senior ranked (not status) leader would control the formation. And while the senior ranked leader in the force can order any...
