Re: Close combat and recon units break off

With relation to the FOO. I would say that if they get involved with a close combat (where they are bound to lose) the result could be read that they have abandoned their post and lost their heavy radio equipment. And without that equipment they are effectively hors de combat - Like gunners without ...

Demo Game at Melbourne Model Expo

My friend Robin and I put on a Napoleonic demo game using GdA at the Melbourne Model Expo today. This is a three day event held every year at the Sandown Racecourse outside Melbourne. Other members of our club put on games on Saturday & Sunday, and Monday (today) was our turn. More pics on my blog a...

Re: Charges again

I was also under the impression that foot artillery could evade and I can see where this gets confusing. Page 45 b.V: Evade. Only skirmishers, Cossacks and limbered artillery may evade. There's no reference to horse or foot artillery. But on p.50 it states horse artillery only. A bit confusing and I...

Re: An Encounter Battle

Lovely looking game and I like your annotation on the pics to tell the story.
I like your BUA's. They look much nicer & practical than individual buildings. I'll have to build a couple for my own games.

Our 5th Game

We played our 5th game of GdA at Nunawading Wargames Assoc in Melbourne today. I didn't actually play but walked a couple of new players through the game. Both are experienced players but new to GdA so it was more the game mechanics that they needed help with. So it was Prussians and French again. A...

Re: Artillary Assault fire

This happened to me in a game a few weeks back. Lucky for me I was the one with the Assault Fire order being charged. And I have to say; it is a pretty effective means of defending one's guns.

Game 4 - We're really getting the hang of it now.

We had our 4th game of GDA at Nunawading Wargames Assoc in Melbourne yesterday. We even got a new player involved and saw Russians on our table for the first time. We have some other long-standing Napoleonic players interested, who have felt stranded in recent years. So we have potential Austrian, P...
