Re: 100 Days - Battle of Gilly

We just played the Gilly scenario this past Saturday and had a great game. Everyone enjoyed the game and more importantly, really liked the rules. We completed all 10 turns in just over three hours with the Prussians handily fending off the French attacks. The French had absolutely diabolical die ro...

Re: Terrain and Combat

I wondered about the unformed too but that would create even more problems as an unformed unit can't charge so it would be almost impossible to dislodge an enemy holding the river/stream bank.

My inclination is to penalize the attacker during the Melee phase with the loss of 1CD.

Terrain and Combat

As I continue to peruse the rules in preparation for our next game, I was surprised to note that terrain has little impact on combat. Close order infantry fire on the inferior table but there is no combat bonus, either in the charge or melee phase, for have a superior position whether that be uphill...

Re: Corps commander optional rules and independent brigades

Hi Nick: Game got postponed until this evening. Real life got in the way. Fortunately, we have no time restraints as I can leave my table set up. Will try and remember to take some pics and figure out how to post them. I think the rules would work for large games as long as the players are both fami...

Re: Corps commander optional rules and independent brigades

Hi John et al. Thank you for your response. It was what I was expecting, more or less. How would you handle a multi Corps game with say Napoleon present with a couple of Corps and the Guard? Would you treat the Emperor as a Corps Commander and allow him distribute his 4 ADC to his Corps Commanders w...

Corps commander optional rules and independent brigades

Hi all. Looking for a little guidance before a Corps sized game tomorrow. The game is a fictional scenario set in the Peninsula pitting Wellington with the 3rd and Light Divisions supported by two Brigades of cavalry, one light, one heavy against 2 Divisions of Ney's VI Corps, the Corps light cavalr...

MRB - British Army Lists

Support List 5 for the British has a Recce Section with two (2) universal carriers, 4 crew each. One Junior Leader. On the following page that Section is defined as "Two universal carriers commanded by a single Junior Leader. These have a three man crew in each armed with a Bren, a PIAT or a 2" mort...

Re: New Player Questions

Hi all. Thanks very much for your very timely input. You confirmed what I thought with respect to the rules questions I posited. After 40+ years of gaming with the same rules lawyer chances of change are slim to nil. On a positive note, he is always willing to open his wallet to build an opposing fo...

New Player Questions

Not sure why it has taken me so long to jump on the CoC bandwagon but I'm sure glad I did. Have now played or umpired 4 games pitting Canucks against an assortment of Panzer Grenadiers in Normandy. Each game was a ton of fun with very, imho, realistic results. I am introducing the game to a regular ...

Pint sized campaigns and 15mm

Just jumped into CoC and am getting ready to give the Storming the Citadel pint sized campaign a go. We will be playing in 15mm keeping ranges etc. as written. I am wondering what other players are doing about the terrain depicted in the scenarios. The footprint of a 15mm building is significantly s...
