Re: Any Austrian -French scenarios out there?
I’m starting to try to design some 1809 actions but it will be a while yet. I am toying with an initial mini campaign from April 1809 as the Austrians push forward and Davout’s troops engage to test where the enemy is/is going. So roughly 11-14 April. I’ve been reading it up in Gill’s first volume. ...

Re: Nassau Regt (grenadiers), Chevauxlegers and Artillery
Greetings
I’ve seen a rule of thumb (can’t recall where off hand) of 1 level of leader per 6 points of troops. It looks to me as if on this basis (eyeballing possible point values akin to French) you’d have about 13 or so leader levels. So, for example, one LIII and, say, 3 LII and 4 LI?

Re: Recce Humber & Daimler armoured cars in NWE 44-45
Greetings
I think a number of Recce Regiments in 1944/5 swapped Humbers (Humber MkIV and Humber LRC) for Daimlers. I’m pretty sure 43rd Recce did.

Re: Advice for a campaign 1809 french/austrians
I’ve been starting to work on lists for 1809 on the Danube and I think I am considerably harsher to both sides. I am trying to differentiate between, for example, the experienced and cohesive French troops in Davout’s III Corps and the pulled together units in Oudinot’s II Corps. Then there is the s...

10mm 1809 planning
Greetings Having played SP2 in Bristol at Winter Wonder Lard IV in January, I am looking at doing more SP2. I have some late French (1813-15) Perry 28mm infantry and will get a number of 28mm Austrians to oppose them - but this will only do small games without investing a lot of time and money. Howe...

Re: 10mm figure basing?
I have most of my 10mm on 30x30 with HQs on round bases. This seems to work OK. I did base some Desert British and Italians on 40x20 for BKC but might rebase them. My WW2 15s are generally on 30x30 as well - originally for Battlefront WW2 but also for IABSM. I am planning to use these for O Group. E...

Re: Commando Platoon Layout
Which type of commando unit and when?
Even if British there’s a difference between Army and RM Commandos and they differ depending on date.

Re: Spotting AFV's
It’s a while since I delved into IABSM. I assume that the Sherman troop was on a blind? The Wargames table may be flat but the real ground may have dead ground etc. The PAK crew will undoubtedly know the Shermans are in the vicinity but have to spot them to actually fire at one of them. If the blind...

Re: Halftracks vs walls
I don’t think so. The front wheels and relatively unprotected engine (underneath) of a halftrack would seem to militate against this in real life. If it’s a very small and weakly built wall then maybe?
