Re: Medieval World: 13th Century Western Europe, which rules?

Following on from gilliessim's heretical post ;) - I would also look at Never Mind the Bill Hooks - the card driven activation and leadership system is essentially the same as the core of Sharp, Infamy etc. I don't believe there is anything "ready to go" in the TFL stable at the moment - '...

Re: "Cult of Lard"

I think the OP issue eventually arises will all sets and is, in part, a reflection of popularity and success. It seems, to me, that once rulesets, or indeed game companies (whether indie or large) reaches a certain size it seems to attract Fan Boy attitudes. This has crept into numerous companies be...

Specific artillery weapon prevalent in battle?

How doe you represent a specific type of artillery being the dominant type in a historic scenario/battle - e.g. Nebelwerfers on Hill 112? Do you just use the specific entry on the table? Would you still use the table with a plus/minus to determine type to point the result in the right direction? Use...

Major pre-game or rolling barrage

I'm researching some scenarios for Normandy but a couple of thoughts occurred.... 1. All games include a "standard" pre game barrage for interdiction but how would you represent the much more significant Allied barrages seen in e.g EPSOM, COBRA or El Alamein? 2. How would you represent a r...

Re: Best method to make OG multi player?

@Forst - simple yet elegant! I like the sound of that approach. Saves one player not getting any or few orders repeatedly so ensuring participation. Just what I was looking for - for intro games for new players.

Re: Tips on running an event participation game

I guess my thoughts are really around - should you simplify rules to make it easier for newcomers and aid speed of play?

Trying to decide what to do in respect of hidden blinds - which will/should feature as its CDS Vietnam.

Was there an article in a Special to give some tips on running an event game? If so could you point me to it, please?

If not - could any one who has run an event game share tips to ensure smooth running.

Best method to make OG multi player?

How are folk playing multiplayer (single Battalion per side) games? I appreciate you can extend to multiple Battalions but am looking at a one Battalion at present. I have considered several ways but would be grateful to hear of peoples experiences e.g. 1. Roll all the dice and equally split the ord...
