Re: Leaders and excess shock in a formation

Page 34 - there it is - thank you JimLeCat. I thought I had spotted it somewhere. I have updated the index page references with that additional p34.
Thanks again.

Allocation of firing hits

Hi again. During last nights SP2 game an interesting comment arose during a musketry exchange. As the umpire I applied the firing and target hit allocations as per the rules but one of the players pointed out an apparent oddity in the rules. We had a two group British formation firing at a two group...

Leaders and excess shock in a formation

Hi to you all. Imagine a formation of three groups with a leader who is attached to the centre group. If, say, the right hand group accumulates excess shock do I count in the leader as one of the men or only count him for the group he is attached to? (I realise there is some debate about whether we ...

Thanks for the prompt responses, Gents.

28mm Civilians/Characters for SP2 Peninsular War

Having seen several photos of demo games I wondered where to get civilian and non military characters suitable for the Peninsular War period. I seen and purchased some Redoubt Miniatures figures which gives me some European "Damsels in Distress" and some Gentlemen in frock coats etc but where to fin...

Re: Sharp Practice - Rescue at Cedillo

Thank you for the kind remarks, Captain. In fact if we both did another re-run using the same orbats and start conditions I'll bet the outcomes would be different again. I find that due to the card draw randomness that an otherwise identical game can go in a completely different direction once the f...

Re: Sharp Practice - Rescue at Cedillo

Rescue at Cedillo – Rerun 13 Jul 18 by Staines Wargamers: The terrain layout, forces and command structure were the same as those used by Captain Fortier in his original AAR. Deployment points also as per original AAR. British Leaders all named after characters in Sharpe Novels. The British commande...

Re: Sharp Practice - Rescue at Cedillo

That looks and reads like an exciting game, so much so we are planning to run that same scenario with your AAR as a basis this Friday at the club. I will address the omission you mentioned by having a minor character and his unit performing the guard duties. Will the rescuing force commander be able...

Also posted in General Discussion board. Superb video production (as always). Re: New Beasts of war Sharp Practice Video

Superb video production (as always). A couple of obvious nuances passed over in the heat of the moment, but there was a few things that challenged my understanding of the rules. 1. When a leader is down the chance to recover is on the next activation of that leader (Table 12 p48) or the chapter end....
