The first casualty taken by the skirmish screen only applies to short range artillery fire (canister), that’s clearly stated in the rules.
The -2 firing on skirmishes makes sense
Thanks

Arty firing and skirmish screens
I have some confusion about how to handle artillery firing when the enemy brigade is effectively covered by a skirmish screen. Page 71 indicates that a skirmish screen 5” or further of a parent unit effectively masks that unit Page 71 also indicates that artillery shot always pass through the skirmi...

Re: Blitzkreig German support lists
I’m planning to build a German early war army Thais autumn and after reading the 1940 handbook I have some questions: 1/ Why no list features as support the AT rifle? 2/ are all the different pioneer teams (wire cutting, demolition ,etc) made of two models? 3/ The Pioneer Squad support has the same ...

Re: Skirmisher basing
I decided long time ago to abandon collective basing and moving to individual bases due to frequent changes in rules by my gamning group. Therefore my 28mm are individually based in 20 x 20mm squares. For GdA bought sabots from Warbases: 4 models per base in 2 ranks and 4 bases (=16 models) to stand...

100 Days - Battle of Gilly
Finally played the first scenario of the book (Battle of Gilly). This is small but challenging scenario that I would recommend to anyone as an introductory game. The French has to demoralise two prussian brigades by the end of the game. The Prussians are mostly reservists and low rated units, but ha...

Re: Dismounted Cavalry
Funny coincidence, this was extensively covered in Henry Hyde’s latest podcast (I listened yesterday). ACW was an infantry war, in a context of lack of tradition of cavalry types (heavy, medium and light), tactics and differentiated roles

Re: Battles of the 100 Days - Scenarios
Dave Anything will do, both options look interesting to me. I really liked the Hundred Days book format. On another matter, have you given a thought to some form of campaign rules? Since the introduction of the Chain of Command Pint-Sized books my club mates and I only play campaigns, very different...
