Re: Street Fighting

I think there are some variations in one of the specials regarding fire from tall buildings ... can't remember which one, but maybe relating to Charlie Don't Surf?? Not sure they'd apply to you average Normandy Village though!

Re: Basing 6mm

Nothing inspirational: I just use washers of various sizes (cheap), 2 per section/squad: LMG/loader on one and 3-4 riflemen on the other. Leaders get smaller washers and the number of figures varying depending on leadership level, so a level 3 will have a radio man, 'officer' figure and a SMG guy. I...

I posted a few photos of games which are now up on vislardica: https://www.vislardica.com/blog/2017/10/30/iabsm-aar-a-small-game-by-james-tree The card/counter sequence completely dictates the play which I find rea...

Re: Close combat and recon units break off

I think as a commander, you should have got the team out earlier (using the normal rules mechanism). If you wait until the enemy is within grenade/CC range (to get a few more turns of artillery FOO'ing for instance), then try and make a run for it you deserve to get shot to bits!

Re: 50mm v 75mm area fire

Interesting ... so, you use a single dice and bigger shells are more accurate?

Is there a central repository of peoples 'house rules'?

If not, is it worth starting one?

So, a couple of ideas I was trying are:

+1D6 for a height advantage for infantry fire
-3D6 for MG/SMG firing through smoke

Re: I Ain't been Nuked, Mum!

Very valid point on ATGM ranges, scales and size of the table ... I guess ranges with more modern FCS and weapons are going to bean issue.
