Re: Help with Pre-Winter War Soviets

It looks like the Soviets reorganized their Rifle Divisions in September 1939 to the 15 man squads. Prior to that, they were using a 1935 organization looking something like this: (snip) In my Winter War campaign http://www.saunalahti.fi/~ejuhola/7.62/chainofcommand/WoNS_1-2/index.html I present bo...

Re: Nuts!?

I played maybe three games of Nuts ten, fifteen years ago. It is based on the Chain Reaction game system. I didn't like it for WWII. It is of a smaller scale than CoC, two squad-sized units per side maybe, with RPG elements (each figure has a characteristic edge or disadvantage). Major failings incl...

Do any of you think the Russian Partizan list from the Operation Winterstorm Scenario Supplement might be helpful?
Yes, I was about to suggest using that. But the Soviet partisans had access to lots of heavy equipment which the French probably did not such as Anti-tank cannon, field cannon etc.

The commercial version is the latest and I believe you should follow that.

Re: Moving Tanks

The tanks' machine guns have the same ranges (close/effective) as infantry MGs. So they'll be a bit more effective up close. But really it's not worth the additional danger. In addition, you don't want an enemy machine gun or other weapon to drive you back over the edge of the table so you need to a...

Re: Soviet anti-mine doctrine

In CoC all minefields are marked and one cannot enter uncleared minefields at all. For my Winter War campaign I changed this. The campaign is here: http://www.saunalahti.fi/~ejuhola/7.62/ ... index.html and the rules are in the Optional Rules section R10.

Re: 60mm FRC Forteresse L/50 Support Option Missing?

Well, it's your game so of course you can have one if you wish :) Canon Antichar de Casemate C.60 L/50 FRC Modèle 36 AP 6 (this is an estimate as I didn't find the real penetration data) HE 4 Support points: 4 for the gun, crew and JL, plus it is presumably only found in entrenchments or bunkers so ...

Re: how do I become a spammer?

I wouldn't recommed anyone to become a spammer, it is incredibly hard and expensive work! For example consider this typical spammer's workday: First thing in the morning, you need to find a dying filthy-rich person who is willing to bequeath all his/her fortune to a random complete stranger halfway ...

Re: Firing Rifle Grenades

I play so that the rifle grenadier must see the target. Rifle grenades are pretty powerful anyways, especially when formed into a team. For what it's worth, I included some optional rifle grenade rules in my Winter War campaign http://eeronsivut.net/pelit/chainofcommand/WoNS_1-2_v2_2 . They're in th...
