Yep, a bit of a pain to remove. I think I just 'went at it' with a screwdriver for a while until there was enough of the screw visible to grab with some small pliers. I had expected them to provide a tool to remove them from the base seeing as they aren't conventional screw heads.

Hey Derek, promise us you're not wearing the kilt again, please. Once was more than enough. :-)

Re: Algernon pulls it off rules?

I think Version 2 was available as a playtest version, Hexless Algy. I know that because it was announced a couple of weeks after I'd bought a couple of hex mats. :-) It's a stonking good game and deserves to see the light of day once again. So, aim for Easter.

I have a couple of the DeAgostini kits that appeared on a magazine. They're quite good a just need a bit of 'weathering'. They were a lot cheaper than the Dragon stuff, that's for sure.

Oh crap. More stuff added to my Crisis shopping list, and it's not even August yet.

Panzerstahl have some excellent kits, easily as good as the Dragon Armour stuff. Solido is also reasonably good quality. I was also surprised by some of the 'front of a magazine' models that are available too.

I prefer to think of it as smart. An appropriate use of time and money. Decades ago I had the time, but no money. Now I have the money, but no time. You have to pick the correct strategy. 8-)

Of course, I'm also lazy.

Re: 1:100 (15mm) scale or 1:56 (28mm) scale?

I have some nice 1/72nd die-cast stuff that I've used to fill out my existing collection. The benefit is I don't have to make them and I don't have to paint them. Although I do give them a bit of weathering if they need it.
