Re: Fire discipline

F, “A normal sized infantry unit attempts to regain its fire discipline. I know it needs to remain stationary. But can it continue to shoot whilst doing so and if so which fire table does it use and what deductions from the dice throw.” The answer is Yes. The unit only needs to remain stationary for...

Re: Basing/number of bases for small med large

E,

Yes, they are 15mm and I go for a rough 11mm to 12mm per figure - which usually comes out at a 35mm wide base for 3 figures.

Re: Basing/number of bases for small med large

RK, I've generally either represented squadrons at full strength, (around 120 men) and use 3 figures on a base, 2 x bases to the squadron or go for a weaker squadron strength and have 5 figures mounted on one base. So your average wargames cavalry unit will be about 15 to 18 figures. 24 figures for ...

Re: FAQ : Redeploy Order

E, You have two options: a) As John states use the voluntary retire move, (but suffer a fatigue casualty), Or b) Manoeuvre the brigade using normal moves or potentially Forwards movement as well, to the new position. (This is only really possible if your brigade is un-engaged, otherwise it's a bit r...

Re: Royal Horse Artillery

Tim,

I thought most were actually 5 guns and 1 howitzer, e.g.
1st Troop RHA (5 light 6pdrs, 1 5 ½ inch howitzer)
2nd Troop RHA (5 light 6pdrs, 1 5 ½ inch howitzer)

Are you forgetting the howitzers or am I confused/missed something! :?

Re: Charge Sequence Doubts

M,

This is touched on in the pdf, (which should be up/out very shortly) but I can also put together a massed column example was well, over the next few weeks.

Re: Supports retire !

If a lead unit and/or supports retire from a charge each unit will lose 1 casualty. (Point 10. p49 and p50.)

Additional simply means an extra casualty on top of any they suffered in the charge from defensive fire.
