Re: Unlimbering in GdA2
V48, The only time this occurs is when a battery unlimbers on the spot, with no other movement. So guns are dropped in place and limbers move away. The penalty, as noted above, is that a battery is prohibited from gaining the top fire result. (Note that infantry when moving also suffer this penalty....

Re: Retreat and Withdrawels
S, 1. If a support has not fought in melee, then there is no impact upon that unit if fellow brigade units lose the melee. The Combat Results table only refers to the unit/s that fought in the melee. Whether a support it's unformed or not depends upon its position in relation to the unit that lost t...

Units such as garrisons, batteries and local reserves were historically dropped off and left well outside of what we call &q...

Re: Command Radius in GdA2
N, See 6.3.2 - Taskings, 8.1.1 - Charging, single units and supported charges, 9.7.3. Redeploying batteries, and 16.4.2 - reinforcing combat. You can drop off units for specific duties, but once out of command radius they are then very restricted as to what offensive action they can take, if any. DB

R,
Correct - they fire normally until they reach 6 casualties. However they are usually leaving the firing line before this!
This short lifespan counter-balances their firepower.

Re: French Divisional Support options in GDA2
C, Yes, in reality they probably would come from the same regt, but for variety we've made them different, it also helps more with the early period structure as well. If you take a look at p98 the French Army you'll see that not all YG are considered as LI trained. This is to reflect that, so it cou...
