Re: jop captured by afv?
You can just before the 4" mark is reached (shutting off the JOP).

Re: jop captured by afv?
Altho', thinking about it, not sure it should be possible, given the period tales of infantry popping up to zap a tank in the back I think that would be covered by using a CoC die to spring an ambush by an AT team. To my mind, the presense of a tank definitely makes using the JOP hazardous and ther...

Re: Moving a Jump Off Point with a CoC dice
It's costly in terms of CoC dice, but I like it and would certainly allow it in any games I participate in. There's a logic to support it in that the sniper has scouted out a route to a new position and fed that information back.

Re: Why no removal of casualties?
From a practical gaming POV, not removing casualties means you don't need to have individually based figures for "change". It also means the game can move faster because you are moving bases rather than individual figures. You can use almost any basing scheme you like as long as both sides...

Re: broken units
Maybe house rule it to something like broken units automatically recover if the point they rout off is within 12" inches parallel of the most advanced JOP. For example, if the most forward JOP is 24" on, units routing off within 36" are automatically recoverable. If not, the men must ...

Re: Major pre-game or rolling barrage
I'd say "free" extra fire missions would be the way to go, but they have to be scheduled and targeted to an identifiable location on table. For example, if you have a rolling barrage worth 3 extra fire missions, you might say on turn 2, a barrage hits a crossroads, on turn 4, it hits woods...

Re: Team reduced to no men?
I don't think I agree with John. Transferring a man to avoid a BTH roll doesn't seem right to me. I think you still have to roll for the team being wiped out (I mean, the section isn't going to feel all that much better about the situation regardless about whether the lone soldier is now organizatio...

Re: SL activating JL
An important part of the CoC is that there usually isn't enough command dice to do everything you want in a phase. You have to prioritize.
The SL activating the JLs reduces that necessity.

Re: What happens to Gun Crew if Gun is destroyed
There are stories of gun crews defending with small arms. But the important thing to remember about these stories is that they are told because they are unusual and noteworthy. The typical response would be for the gun crew to retire (with or without the gun) and that is not going to become the focu...
