Re: Britcon 2024

Thanks for the info. I have now acquired the requisite leave pass and booked for the Lard Workshop with a car trip down the hill from Edinburgh. Looking forward to it.

Britcon 2024

Any info on Lard at Britcon 2024? There is a possibility I will be in or near Nottingham in Aug this year after the Edinburgh Tattoo, so I might be abe to get there.

Re: Indian and NZ LRDG

Thanks, great footage. Agree that they are probably not LRDG but perhaps the Recce units of the Indian Divisions in the Desert War. Some great shots of Indian Pattern Carriers, SP 2 pdrs on CMP chassis and Marmon Herrington Armoured Cars (without the mods that the South African and British units app...

Re: Recce Humber & Daimler armoured cars in NWE 44-45

As a result of skimming Nick's article in the 2019 Lard Mag, I can see that Recce troops were organised as 2 "gun" vehicles with 2 "Scout" vehicles and Daimler were therefore a Daimler Mk 2 Armoured Car with a Daimler Scout Car while Humbers were a Humber Mk3 or 4 Armoured Car (N...

Re: Recce Humber & Daimler armoured cars in NWE 44-45

Thanks, Monty Lardo, I had found that one but my ageing memory seems to recall more mention of the Humber Armoured Cars and Scout cars combos as well. I had thought that the reference was that Daimlers were the vehicles for Armoured Divisions and Humbers were used in Infantry Divisions. In CoC terms...

Recce Humber & Daimler armoured cars in NWE 44-45

I believe Nick Skinner wrote an article covering Armoured Car units in NWE detailing which vehicles were used in Armoured and Infantry Divisions, can someone point me to it's location, please? My Google-Fu is failing me.

Indian and NZ LRDG

Following Rich's progress with his LRDG raiding group for Go Commando has led me down the rabbit hole (again!) and I am looking for info on the Indian Squadron and the New Zealand unit/s for the LRDG. Does anyone have any sources for their history? While he has focused on the Rhodesians due to a fam...

Indian Infantry Divisions in Burma 1944 & IP Carriers

Just did an edit on my title typo, apologies. Thanks to those who have replied, useful info. My prints are complete and will soon (heatwave permitting) have an undercoat. Some minor issues with printing but happy with the results. I have just bought the files for and printed 3 Indian Pattern Carrier...

Re: Far East Roadside store

Yep, looks to be the goods, thank you (and Truscott Trotter as well). Found a heap of 3D print files as well for bags, sacks, boxes and barrels too, so hopefully off to the Library this arvo for a quick print job. Festive big Burma Build! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCaveOT_ios&t=3618s Don

Far East Roadside store

In an episode of Lard TV, Rich showed us how he build a Roadside store using a Sarissa Japanese building. I think the same building featuresin in the Road from Mandalay article of the 2023 Lard Annual. Does anyone have a link to the Lard TV episode, please?
