Mortars and minefields

A British 3" mortar drops a bombardment and the 18" square area that is affected includes a minefield (in this case a mined bridge). Is there a case whereby the minefield might be destroyed (ie mines detonated)? I realise there's no rule on this situation, but my opponent and I were set to wondering...

Re: Elite PanzerGrenadiers

Davemunson I think that's fair. Your suggestion is a good medium between a whole new dice and being a bit harder to hit. It seems those folk that play elites (FJ, Paras, US Airborne, etc) forget how much of an advantage that extra command d6 is. Yes, the general quality of German troops was declinin...

Re: Elite PanzerGrenadiers

Yeah true.

I guess that's the benefit of playing the period not the rules

Re: Elite PanzerGrenadiers

I'm not sure this reflects the fact that throughout most of the war, the German soldier was possessed of more individual initiative than those of other nations. I tend to think that elite PanzerGrenadiers (of all of the arms of the Heer), would probably reflect this.

Elite PanzerGrenadiers

So let me get this straight: When taking elite PanzerGrenadiers, you still only get 5 dice right? I get that PanzerGrenadiers are quite powerful on the battlefield, but so are my prospective opponents - British Airborne. Is there a reason for this disparity in terms of dice? Maybe I'm missing someth...

Re: Somua S-35 in German service.

In regards to crew special rules, there was talk that there was only room for the commander in the turret, so he (as the JL) would be less effective (because he'd have to fire the main gun)

Any definitive conclusions on that?

Somua S-35 in German service.

Has there been any consensus on the use of the Somua S-35 in Wehrmacht (German) service? I've read they modified them with a new cupola (IIRC from a Panzer III)

What list should I use, and are there any special rules in regard to the crew?

Re: Stug III G with 7.5cm barrel vs. 10.5cm barrel

...and, with that model, it's easy enough to exchange the barrels so that either alternative can be used!

My bro has this kit and does just that, and I have the Rubicon StuG with the same option. Indeed I have used it with success!
